What type of car insurance do I need?
It is not always easy to choose the right car insurance for your needs and we want to help you make the right decision.
Whether you are a new or more experienced driver, everyone needs liability insurance. Fortunately, SafeAuto has specialized in helping drivers meet these requirements for more than 20 years with affordable car insurance. Liability insurance protects you against the claims of other drivers for your injuries (bodily injury) or vehicle damage (property damage) if you cause an accident. The amount of protection depends on the level of liability protection you want to have. Most states require drivers to have a liability insurance up to certain minimum limits.
If you have trouble making a decision, do not hesitate to contact our 24/7 customer service and a friendly member of the SafeAuto team will help you get the right coverage for your individual needs.
What is the difference between collision and comprehensive car insurance?
With all the different terms used to describe insurance, it can be difficult to know how it is covered. Collision insurance and comprehensive auto insurance are like two sides of the same coin. Each one protects you in a different way.
Collision auto insurance helps cover the cost of repairs if your vehicle is involved in a collision. In the event that you are involved in an accident, your collision coverage withdraws the account after meeting your deductible (you choose the desired deductible during the SafeAuto quote process). The lower the deductible, the less you will pay out of pocket if you are involved in a collision. While your state can not demand collision insurance, many lenders and renters require this coverage to protect their interests in the vehicle.
Comprehensive insurance covers “everything else.” This includes a collision with an animal, natural disasters (ie, floods, tornadoes, hail), theft/vandalism and fires. Another reason why you may want to consider comprehensive car insurance is if you lease your vehicle or buy it with a loan. Like collision insurance, your state may not require comprehensive insurance. Lenders and tenants may also require comprehensive coverage to protect their interest in the vehicle as well as collision coverage.
